day trip to Floreana

Is it possible to take a day trip to Floreana from Santa Cruz?  I have an extra day or two before boarding the Eclipse for a week, but they don't go to Floreana.  I thought it sounded like an interesting island -- would it be worth it to try to go there on my own?  Thanks for any advice!

Yes it is worth it. You have several options: 1) You can
take public transport and spend up to a week at the Wittmer Pension, it
is a little long but you will enjoy the tranquility of this isolated
Island2) Book a day tour from Santa Cruz or San Cristobal Island. This is a guided tour. I
do not recommend going on your own for just 1 day(public transport and
back) since you will be stuck visiting the town and not nature sites.
You cannot visit nature sites without a guide and there is no local
guide services to be hired at Floreana. Good luck with your trip. Galapago
