Ultimate Galapagos Wildlife Expedition 15 Days
The Ultimate Galapagos Wildlife Expedition aboard the Hermes Mega Catamaran is a 15-day, 14-night journey combining an extensive collection of wildlife, marine, geological, and historical experiences across the archipelago. Beginning at Baltra Airport, the itinerary explores Santa Cruz, Isabela, Fernandina, Santiago, North Seymour, Rabida, Bartolome, South Plaza, Santa Fe, San Cristobal, Española, Floreana, Chinese Hat, and Genovesa, with encounters ranging from Galapagos Giant Tortoises and land and marine iguanas to Galapagos Penguins, sea lions, fur seals, sea turtles, flamingos, Flightless Cormorants, frigatebirds, and several species of boobies. Guests experience white, green, red, and black-sand coastal landscapes, volcanic formations, lava tunnels, mangrove habitats, historic sites, nesting colonies, beaches, lagoons, cliffs, and marine environments through hiking, snorkeling, swimming, panga rides, and wet and dry landings before concluding the expedition at Black Turtle Cove and returning to Baltra Airport.

Day by day

Day 1: Welcome to Galapagos & Bachas Beach Wildlife
Your 15-day Galapagos expedition begins at Baltra Airport, where a Hermes guide will welcome you to the islands and escort you to the superyacht. Once aboard, enjoy lunch and an introduction to Hermes before beginning your first exploration. In the afternoon, visit Bachas Beach on Santa Cruz Island. Its soft white sand is formed from decomposed coral and provides an important nesting site for sea turtles. Along the lava rocks bordering the water, look for colorful Sally Lightfoot crabs moving across the shoreline. The surrounding area also provides opportunities to observe frigatebirds, Blue-footed Boobies, and sea lions. This first excursion introduces the combination of distinctive landscapes and remarkable wildlife encounters that will characterize the journey through the Galapagos.
Day 2: Isabela’s Volcanic Shores: Tagus Cove & Urbina Bay
Explore two remarkable locations on Isabela Island, beginning with Tagus Cove, a historic anchorage used by whalers and pirates dating back to the 1800s. After a dry landing, follow a trail along the slopes of Darwin Volcano to panoramic viewpoints and Darwin’s Lake, a saltwater crater lake above sea level. A dinghy ride beneath the cliffs offers opportunities to observe Blue-footed Boobies, Brown Noddies, and Flightless Cormorants before snorkeling with Galapagos Penguins, schools of fish, and possibly sea turtles. In the afternoon, discover Urbina Bay, shaped by a dramatic geological uplift in 1954 that exposed part of the shallow sea bottom and coral reef. Walk among coral fossils while looking for Galapagos Land Iguanas, then snorkel near a small resident Galapagos Penguin colony with opportunities to observe Marine Iguanas feeding underwater on algae.
Day 3: Fernandina’s Marine Iguanas & Vicente Roca’s Underwater World
Day 4: Santiago’s Wild Coast & Buccaneer History
Day 5: North Seymour Birds & Giants of the Highlands
Day 6: Rabida’s Red Shores & Legendary Pinnacle Rock
Day 7: Land Iguanas, Giant Cacti & Sea Lion Encounters
Day 8: Pitt Point Seabirds & the White Sands of Witch Hill
Day 9: Sea Lion Island, Galapagos History & Tijeretas Hill
Day 10: Española: Gardner Bay & the Wildlife of Suarez Point
Day 11: Floreana’s Colorful Beaches & Historic Post Office Bay
Day 12: Conservation & Giant Tortoises on Santa Cruz
Day 13: Dragon Hill Iguanas & Chinese Hat Snorkeling
Day 14: Genovesa: A Paradise of Seabirds Above & Below the Cliffs
Day 15: Black Turtle Cove: A Peaceful Galapagos Finale
